Senior Game Artist

You’re a gamer yourself, and you know when art makes a game feel more exciting, satisfying, and alive. You care about more than how assets look in isolation: you make sure they work in the game and support the player experience. You’re a versatile game artist with a strong VFX background. You understand how timing, shape, color, and motion can bring gameplay to life, and you’re confident working in Unity, using shader workflows, and opening code to understand how things work. You balance visual impact with clarity, performance, and the realities of production. You bring a generalist perspective to the art pipeline, contribute practical art and art-tech guidance, and help turn early ideas into playable results. You challenge assumptions, iterate quickly, and polish with purpose. Sound like you? Then apply now and let’s work on awesome games together.

Employers

Ekipa2 d.o.o

In this role you will

  • Contribute across the art pipeline, bringing a generalist perspective and hands-on support where the game needs it most.
  • Create and implement game art, with a focus on visual effects that make gameplay feel more responsive, exciting, and clear.
  • Help shape features from early ideation and concepts through prototypes, mockups, and in-engine implementation, working with art direction, design, and engineering.
  • Provide art and art-tech guidance across production, helping teams turn the game’s vision into practical, achievable work.
  • Identify risks, blockers, and opportunities in art production, and find solutions that improve quality, iteration, and scalability.
  • Help define priorities, scope, and workflows so the team can deliver functional, playable work with polish that serves the game.

What we’re looking for

  • A versatile game art generalist with a strong VFX background and a portfolio showing readable, effective effects in gameplay.
  • Deep knowledge in at least two art disciplines, with the ability to give useful art and art-tech input across teams.
  • Professional proficiency in Unity, including confidence implementing and iterating on work in-engine.
  • Comfort opening and reading code to understand how systems work, troubleshoot issues, and make or support straightforward changes.
  • Practical shader experience and an understanding of how materials, shaders, and real-time effects work together.
  • A strong game artist mindset: you consider timing, shape, color, motion, gameplay, camera, readability, performance, and how your work fits into the wider game.
  • A pragmatic approach to scope and craft: you challenge initial assumptions, evaluate different options, and polish with purpose.
  • Experience sharing knowledge, guiding or mentoring artists, and helping improve team workflows.

Your experience

  • 5+ years of experience in game development, creating and implementing art for games.
  • 3+ years of professional experience with real-time VFX, including building effects and working with shaders in Unity. Your portfolio or reel shows polished, readable effects in an interactive context.
  • Hands-on experience with Unity or a proprietary C++ game engine, including implementing art in-engine and working with particle systems, materials, shaders, or similar tools.
  • Experience contributing across the art pipeline, such as prototyping features, collaborating with other disciplines, or providing art and art-tech input.
  • Experience with procedural tools or node-based shader workflows is a plus.

What we offer

  • Employment relationship with Ekipa2 d.o.o. for an indefinite period of time, with a six-month probationary period.
  • Diverse work with exciting daily challenges, working as part of a team in a fun, relaxed environment.
  • Participation in attractive projects.
  • Development opportunities through training, seminars, and conferences.
  • Choice of sport, fitness, educational, and entertainment activities outside of work.
  • Healthy meals in the office.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • 24 days of paid vacation.
  • Participation in a discretionary bonus plan.
  • Christmas bonus (subject to internal company policies).
