There’s a reason customization systems keep becoming a bigger part of games. At their best, they’re not really about changing outfits or colours, they’re about giving players the freedom to shape identity, experiment with aesthetics, and create versions of themselves, or someone completely different, inside a digital world.
That’s exactly the space My Talking Angela 2 continues exploring with the introduction of its new Nail Salon feature.
A New Layer of Creativity
The new feature lets players step into the role of a nail stylist, guiding Talking Angela through a full manicure experience from start to finish. Players begin by choosing a visual theme before moving through different stages of the process, including nail prep, shaping, painting, and decorating.
Depending on the chosen aesthetic, players can experiment with different nail shapes, layered colors, textures, stickers, gems, and decorative effects to create everything from soft minimalist looks to dramatic pointed designs and bold expressive styles.
Unlike some of the game’s previous customization systems, Nail Salon introduces a more curated creative flow. The selected theme influences the available colors, textures, and decorative elements throughout the session, helping players build cohesive aesthetics while still leaving room for experimentation and creativity.
Customization Became Something More
What makes the feature interesting isn’t just the customization itself, but what it represents inside the broader direction of the game. Over time, My Talking Angela 2 has quietly expanded beyond traditional caretaking mechanics into something much more creative and personal, where fashion, hairstyles, makeup, jewelry, roleplay, and now nail art all work together as tools for self-expression.
“We actually anticipated this shift even before the Fashion Editor was added,” explains Silina Senica Pintar, Product Manager at Outfit7. “From the user-generated content we saw online, we realized players weren’t simply playing a pet sim, they were creating characters, stories, and entirely different personas around Talking Angela.”
That behavior became even more visible once players started combining different customization systems together, carefully building complete looks, aesthetics, and moods around Talking Angela.
“When the Fashion Editor launched, that creativity exploded,” Silina continues. “We noticed a clear pattern: players weren’t just picking items; they were meticulously matching hair, makeup, wardrobe, and even bath bomb effects to create one perfect, cohesive look.”
Self-Expression Without Limits
More than anything, Nail Salon reflects a much bigger shift happening across gaming and digital experiences. Players increasingly want creative freedom, systems that allow them to experiment, personalize, and shape experiences around their own identity, style, and imagination.
And if there’s one thing My Talking Angela 2 keeps proving, it’s that self-expression rarely stops at just one feature.
